HIZPAD outlines
HIZPAD (High-Z sensors for Pixel Array Detectors) is a JRA (Joint Research Activity) of the ELISA project funded by the European Community in the frame of the Seventh Framework Program.
The aim of HIZPAD is to foster the development of high-Z semiconductor pixel sensors in order to extend the applications range of SR/FEL pixel detectors towards higher X-ray energies. The HIZPAD JRA is focused on the improvement of detection performances, of reliability and of availability of high-Z hybrid photon-counting pixel arrays, and on evaluations of these devices at different SR/FEL sources.
